Could Cypress Bio-Tech Disinfectant Series really kill the virus that causes COVID-19?
Laboratory results show that Cypress Bio-Tech Disinfectant Series, whose QUAC2TM formula contains Benzalkonium chloride as active ingredient, could effectively kill 99.99% of the virus that causes COVID-19 within 30 seconds. The tests were carried out by University of Malaysia in a laboratory which has ongoing collaboration with World Health Organization, and were conducted directly against SARS-CoV-2 extracted from COVID-19 patients.
Apart from the SARS-CoV-2, could Cypress Bio-Tech Disinfectant series kill other germs?
Results from tests conducted in a Biosafety Level 3 laboratory show that, besides SARS-CoV-2 that causes COVID-19, Cypress Bio-Tech Disinfectant series is effective in killing also common bacteria and viruses. It includes MRSA (Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus), Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Salmonella and Legionella bacteria. The product is thus facilitatory in preventing viral or bacterial diseases such as respiratory infections and influenza.
Can Cypress Bio-Tech Disinfectant series be used on different object surfaces?
The product can be used to disinfect the surface of various materials, such as plastic, metal, fabric, wood and glass, and is equally suitable for indoor and outdoor objects. Out of safety consideration though, it is not advisable to use the product on conductive surface area.
After applying Cypress Bio-Tech Disinfectant series on objects or skin, should I dry it?
Cypress Bio-Tech Disinfectant series is incorporated with wetting technology to enhance its penetrating power. With the Hand Sanitizing Foam, it is advised that the product to be applied evenly on the palms and rub them until dry. As for the Disinfectant Spray, hold it 10-15cm away from the surface of objects or skin, spray until the surface area is slightly damp and allow it to dry. If the surface is uneven (such as that of unsealed wood or wool), simply increase the amount of product used.
After applying the product, surfaces require no additional drying or rinsing. To optimise the long-term antiviral and antibacterial protective effect, rubbing on the disinfected surface should be avoided.
If I apply Cypress Bio-Tech Disinfectant series on my skin, could I use my other skincare products as usual?
It is recommended to allow all skincare products to be totally absorbed before carrying out the disinfection procedure with Cypress Bio-Tech Disinfectant series. In other words, use of skincare products is not recommended after applying the disinfectant foam or spray, so as to avoid interference with its antiviral and antibacterial protection. Moreover, use of waterproof skincare products may affect the product’s penetrating and adhering effectiveness, and should be avoided.
Should I reapply Cypress Bio-Tech regularly after initial application?
Cypress Bio-Tech Disinfectant series could provide protection for up to 12 hours, thanks to the enhanced penetrating power by wetting technology. However, if object surface or skin is washed, in particular with cleaning or disinfesting agent containing alcohol, reapplication of Cypress Bio-Tech Disinfectant series is highly recommended to ensure the best protective effect.
Can I use Cypress Bio-Tech Disinfectant series to disinfest masks?
It is not advisable to spray on surgical masks as they should not come into contact with moisture. The product is, however, suitable to be used on masks of fabric or plastic.
Would Cypress Bio-Tech Disinfectant series cause skin irritations as commonly seen with using alcohol-based disinfectant products?
Containing no alcohol or artificial colouring and fragrance, the product has passed the Acute Dermal irritation test of Organisation and is classified as no irritation. It does not cause skin irritations.
Could Cypress Bio-Tech be used in a household with young children and/or pets?
Cypress Bio-Tech does not contain alcohol, steroids, hormones, chlorhexidine or other harmful ingredients. The product has passed the Acute Oral Toxicity, Inhale Toxicity, and Acute Dermal Irritation tests of Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), and is proven to be safe on human and animal. Precautions, however, should be taken to avoid accidental swallowing or contact with eyes.
